Imagine my surprise when I found out that Layla is not the only cat who can open the cabinets. Friday around 4 am I was woken up by the sound of the cats playing and fighting over something in my bathroom. I get out of bed, walk in there and find my feather duster on the floor behind the commode. Normally it's under the sink downstairs in the kitchen. I go down and put it back and don't think anything more of it. Sunday morning, same thing, woken up because they have something they are playing with in my bathroom. It is, yet again, my feather duster. This time I wake Chris up to go put it back and he ties the handles of the cabinet together with a bungee cord. (We keep cleaners and such there, once can be excused but 2x and it's a hazard.) Last night we took it out from under the cabinet and let them play with it. Almost all the cats went nuts trying to catch it. Um, as far as I know nature doesn't make birds this color!
So, today I have felt a bit down and it's for the oddest reason. Tomorrow Chris not only gets his regular pay, he also gets his bonus. (God Bless Verizon!) We're paying off the personal loan that we were forced to take out because of a college that Chris attended last Spring messed up his financing (normally work will pay for some). Now that's a great thing!! And we'll have some left over to have the boys neutered (making that call tomorrow!) and to take Patches in and have the others vaccinated. All good. BUT, there is also some there after all that set aside for me to shop for myself with. Chris insisted, and I'm feeling guilty as heck about it. I just bought books! Now, I admit I need a few things for Church and a new pair of jeans and sneakers. (boy howdy, do I need sneakers!) The guilty feeling part? Why is my clothing the most expensive in the household? I already have everything priced out(except for the sneakers) and I won't scare y'all with it, but it flips me out and therefore, there's the guilt. I know I shouldn't feel guilty for buying what I need. But, I do. AND shopping for myself is a miserable experience, especially the trying on clothes part. I'm not a small woman (my height is average, but I wear a sz. 16/18) and am generally okay with how I look. I don't exercise to lose weight, I do it to be healthy, good thing too because I look just like my Mom, who looked like her grandmother. Genetics are a funny thing. But, that doesn't mean I'm not unhappy when I see all the clothes I like, but aren't available in my size. And no, I don't mean teeny-bopper type things. I'm more of a classic/clean line/solid color gal. Agh! I'm pretty sure I'm just rambling. But, surfice it to say, the thing I AM looking forward to is new sneakers. I swear I'm going to take a picture and show y'all why! (maybe tomorrow) So excuse my sorry self tonight, okay? I'm probably the only woman in the world who is depressed by spending money on herself. (And I can't talk to Chris about this. He's a guy, he doesn't get it. ) So, thanks for reading my weird tale.
Have a good wednesday. Daughter has class and Son and I are probably going to hit the library while she's there. I hope y'all have a good day!! B.
