I love these pictures of Layla enjoying a warm summer day while napping in the sunshine. She looks so funny and cute. I love her, especially listening to her purr as I fall asleep at night. I call her my purr-y teddy bear. *g*
I am a creature of habit. I don't like change and right now my life is changing. It's not in a way that affects my family. Just me. It may seem silly to y'all, but it is something that will be effecting the amount of joy I feel every week when working out. See, I love Zumba and all the different teachers are just that. Different. My favorite just left for maternity leave and since they really don't have a replacement for her, they are changing the schedule for that night. But, not only for that night. For every night. It's very complicated to explain, but the gist is they are going to be alternating Zumba on Tues/Thurs with pilates and a Barre class. So, one week will be Barre (Tues.), Zumba Sentoa (Wed., at the Pine Y) and then Pilates (Thurs.). The following week will be Zumba (Tues.), Zumba Sentao (Wed.), and Zumba (Thurs.). There's the change part. I like pilates, but also need cardio. And Barre and Pilates will not give me that. I'm sunk. Oh, and two other teachers quit at the MT Y, so where they alternating ZumbaTone with regular Zumba (taught by a different teacher than the tone class), now it will be the same teacher every. single. Wednesday and every other Sunday. Why is that bad? Because she only had about 45 minutes of material and her classes are the exact same every. single. week. And the worst part? She's going to be teaching the Tuesday Zumba class over at the Pine Y whenever it's the class night for it. She's an okay teacher, but again. Limited routines, limited moves, limited music. So, in one week I'd have her Tuesday, Wednesday and then Sunday. The same thing. Every. Single. Class. And on Thursdays that have Zumba, I'm guessing the sub we've had for the past few classes who is the exact same way. She has a limited number of routines, limited music. (No, I really don't want to dance to the Angry Birds theme song, thanks.) I've noticed that those two teachers don't have dance backgrounds. Unlike the one on maternity leave and the other great one on alternating Sundays. And I have no recourse. I HAVE to be there on Tuesdays and Thursdays because that's when the kids have to be there for the MA classes. I'm going to lose something that makes me happy, that makes me smile, that makes me excited to exercise. And I am sad. Please excuse my whiny-ness. I'm just...... sad about all the changes and lack of happiness I'll be feeling for these classes.
In other news, we are getting used to thinking of Taki as a girl. Now I don't have to be worried about why she was so much smaller (but eats so much more) than her brother. I DO have to worry about her snuffly nose, the reason for the Vet visit on Saturday morning. Despite the meds they gave her she is still snuffly. I don't like it. So, we'll be visiting our regular vet Tuesday (today, I'm up late again) afternoon. I want her all better and they obviously don't know what the heck they're doing at the other Vets. Kind thoughts for Miss Taki would be welcome, please. I can say her habit of trying to join us in our showers can't be helping. And by join, I don't mean sitting on the ledge of the tub. She gets IN the tub as the shower is running. It's unnerving.
As for reading? I just read a YA that I picked up today at the library. It's titled, you know what? I'm not going to say here because I don't want the author to read that I had issues with her book. It was my first read by the author and while I liked the book, I'll admit I had hoped for something a little lighter-hearted. The description made it seem so, but the actuality of it is more intense and scary. However, the lead female, a 16 year old girl, is very grounded (sometimes too grounded, coming off cold and almost emotion-less. Her mother came across as almost crazy- quite the shock since the mom is supposed to be a therapist. While I did like the read, I had a few issues with it. Next up? I'm not sure yet. I picked up three other books from the library today and two are by new-to-me authors as well as this one. I'm crossing my fingers!
No more from me. Time to get some rest. I hope y'all had a nice Monday. I wish a mild Fall day for your Tuesday with the joy that Fall brings (to me, hopefully to you, too). Goodnight and Sweet Dreams, B.
