This, is one of my favorite pictures of Fireball. It was taken a few years ago. He was so curious (and still is) and silly and while exploring he found the basket we keep our shoes daily shoes in downstairs. I could almost swear he's smiling in this picture, and it's so cute because he was asleep sitting up in the basket. *g* (I know I've shared this picture before, but I've been cleaning up and deleting some pictures and ran across this one and had to share it again.)
It has been one heck of a busy day! But, first off it was
Dru's Birthday! Happy Birthday Dru!
After schoolwork this morning and lunch this afternoon the kids and I headed out for grocery shopping. It's a long process considering we visit so many stores and that I feel pressed (by myself) to get it all done in one day. First stop was Aldi, where we'll be going back sometime this week because they're supposed to be selling a cross-cut shredder for $20. Our shredder died a few months back and we tried burning the papers, but that didn't go well. So, we need to pick up a new one. But, have y'all priced those things lately? Good grief! So, we'll be keeping our eye out for the one at Aldi. Next stop was Sam's. Now, I've been a big fan of Sam's Club for many years and we save money on the cat food, cat litter, waters and chicken we buy there that are staples. However, ours is going through some kind of renovation in the back of the store where the produce, meat and bakery section is located. However, today? I was very disappointed. The meat section selection was sad, they were many empty spots and what was there was sparse. The bakery section? Well, we don't buy much there, but it was a mess to navigate around. The produce section, usually a well maintained section was disorganized and some of the produce did not look good at all. We were looking at bell peppers (the colored variety-I detest green bell peppers) and there was mold growing on some of them. Ewwww. Then there were the grapes. Those were in just as bad a shape. We found some good among the not so good, but I was annoyed that the quality wasn't better. It makes me wonder about going to costco instead, except I know they don't sell the brands of products we use. (Mostly the cat products.) AND there was some kind of alarm that kept going off and on the entire time we were in the store. It did not make for a nice shopping experience. *g*
After all that and the gloomy looking weather today we decided to make a quick trip by B&N for a book. Only, they didn't have the book I was looking for-at all. As a matter of fact they had absolutely NONE of the authors other books and the book I was looking for was book one in a series where I had accidentally read book two before realizing there was a book one. I was frustrated. Tell me again why I thought purchasing a discount card for B&N was a good idea? (After all the Discount card is useless online-though it can be used for free shipping.) So, we went by BAM quickly. They didn't have the book, either. But, they had over 6 different books from a couple of the other series this author writes. Oh, and the author? Janet Chapman. I adored reading
Dragon Warrior and wanted to read the first book in the
Moonlight Bay series. Oh, well. I'll have to order it or pick it up another time. BUT, I did purchase
A Highland Christmas by Janet Chapman at BAM. And while I know this isn't the first to feature some of the characters, I'm okay with that. Especially since I've been wanting to read this book since it was released in October of last year and my library hasn't gotten it in. I finally caved and bought it. *g* I also picked up the latest issue of RT magazine. I've marked several books due out in April and even To-Be-Released books from June.
After all that we headed home where I put away the groceries, made the bed (from the linens I washed earlier) and vacuumed the house. When Chris arrived we headed back out to WW to pick up the rest of the groceries we needed and now we're done. My panty is full for the next two weeks and everyone picked up a treat as well. Daughter and Son chose ice cream. Chris chose ice cream sandwiches and I? Well, I like ice cream, but not that much. I know, weird. So, I picked up a box of brownie mix. And I'll be nice and share. *g* (And yes, they do come out good even if you use applesauce in place of oil or butter.)
Chris and I made dinner together and had a nice evening. Well, until I slipped on water in the bathroom (no-nothing leaking. The cats water bowl is located a couple of feet away from their food and one of them decided to have fun and splash and get water everywhere.) (And the water bowl is located away from the food because Midnight likes to drop his food in the water bowl if they're close together. I know-he's weird.). I banged my elbow badly, the toes on one foot and one was bleeding for some reason and my fanny is going to be an interesting shade of black and blue tomorrow. *sigh* What a day!
All that said it's time for bed. You can guess what I'm reading right now, so no reason to wax on about that. *g* I hope y'all had a fun and enjoyable Friday. I wish an amusing and laugh-filled Saturday for y'all. Goodnight and Hugs, B.
P.S. I just realized this post sounds kinda cranky. I promise I wasn't. Just tired! *g*
Exercise: Over 2.5 hours of walking, pushing a cart and lifting heavy objects. It should count, but probably doesn't.
Fitness Challenge Miles: 0. *sigh* We were so busy today......
